Course Overview

Certificate/Diploma in Cyber Security – TVET-CDACC is designed to equip students with cybersecurity skills, ethical hacking techniques, and risk management strategies to combat cyber threats in today’s digital landscape. As cyberattacks rise globally, this government-accredited course (CDACC) trains learners in network security, penetration testing, cyber laws in Kenya, and secure software development, preparing them for careers as Cybersecurity Analysts, Information Security Officers, or Certified Ethical Hackers.

In today’s digital economy where cyber threats evolve daily, this entry-level cybersecurity certification equips aspiring professionals with practical, industry-relevant skills to protect organizations from data breaches, malware attacks, and network vulnerabilities

The course consists of:

  • Hands-on IT Security Fundamentals: Learn computer system hardening, network defense strategies, and security best practices through immersive labs using real-world tools.
  • Cyber Threat Prevention: Gain expertise in identifying vulnerabilities, securing software applications, and implementing data protection measures for modern businesses.
  • Operational Security Skills: Develop competencies in security system administration, risk assessment protocols, and compliance with Kenyan cyber laws.

Entry Requirements:

An individual registering for this course should have any of the following minimum requirements:

  1. a) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) with a minimum mean grade of D (D PLAIN)

Or

  1. c) Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA)

Duration: One Academic Year (12 Months Tuition) + Industrial Attachment (3 Months)

Intakes: January, May & September.

Entry Requirements:

An individual entering this course should have any of the following minimum requirements:

  1. a) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) with a minimum mean grade of C- (C MINUS)

Or

  1. b) Cyber security technician Level 5 certificate in a related course level 5

Or

  1. a) Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA)

Duration: Two Academic Years (18 Months Tuition) + Industrial Attachment (3 Months)
